Fishing in Bohuslän's Barren Archipelago

Once you arrive in Marstrand, where the old fishing port awaits, you will become part of a traditional shellfish fishing trip. Our experienced fishing guides will take you out among the rocks and skerries where you will have the chance to try your hand at casting the cages and fishing for crayfish or crabs. You will use cages, bait and pull up the catch by hand – a real shellfish experience where you will feel both the excitement and the peace that comes with fishing.

The skipper on board will give you an insight into the art of fishing, tell you how the job is done and share his best tips for catching the biggest shellfish. This is a chance to really get close to nature and experience authentic West Coast life.

Fish from March to August – And Try Lobster Fishing!

This fantastic fishing trip runs throughout the shellfish season, from March to August, where you will have the opportunity to fish for both crayfish and crabs. From September onwards, we will replace the crayfish with lobster and give you the chance to try the classic lobster fishing in Bohuslän. Regardless of when you book your trip, you will get an unbeatable experience of the rich marine life and the unique nature of this part of Sweden.

A Seafood Feast on the Wharf

At our location at Marstrands sjöbod , located by the old fishing harbor, you can enjoy the fresh catch cooked right after you pull it up. 10:00 – Meeting and briefing in Gothenburg We gather at the pier in Gothenburg for a short safety briefing and information about today's fishing.

10:15 – Departure by RIB boat You set off on the sea and enjoy a fast-paced ride through the beautiful west coast archipelago towards Marstrand. Water, wind and archipelago views – it's a perfect start to an unforgettable day.

11:00 – Arrival Marstrand and Fishing Start Once we arrive at Marstrand we go to the boathouse to start the day's fishing. You get to try baiting and whittling the cages yourself, while the skipper tells us about the local fishing and the rich maritime life in Bohuslän, then we set off by fishing boat in search of the day's lunch (of course there is a back-up if luck fails).

13:00 – Fresh Seafood Lunch at the Pier Once you have landed your catch, enjoy a wonderful lunch of fresh seafood, cooked right on the pier. Enjoy a fantastic atmosphere and unforgettable taste experiences in the old fishing harbor.

14:00 – Departure to Gothenburg After a fantastic day at sea, we set course back towards Gothenburg. Enjoy one last moment at sea before returning to the city.
